Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to retrieve my ticket?

In order to retrieve your ticket, you will need:
  • Case or Ticket Number, or
  • First Name, Last Name, and Date of Birth, or
  • Vehicle Plate
Please note that if you have received a ticket within the past 72 hours, and it does not appear in the system, you may need to check back at a later time for your ticket information.

What if I can’t find my ticket?

If you see a "Cannot be Found" message when you enter your ticket, it either means (i) you didn’t enter your information correctly or (ii) you don’t currently have any obligations to pay.

Please contact the Court if you need further assistance.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Online we accept the following major credit/debit cards: Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. We will accept check or money order in-person or via mail, and cash in-person only.

ALL online payments must be made not less than 48 HOURS before your scheduled court date and time. Payment of your ticket online before your assigned trial date in no way affects your right to have a trial by a judge or a jury. If you are making an online payment for a bench warrant, you must also contact the trial court during normal business hours to advise the Court of the payment.

How will the transaction appear on my billing statement?

Transactions made through this website are processed by a third party vendor. The transaction will appear on billing statements similar to NCH COURT EPAY.

What can I do for Expungement of Arrest Record(s), Driver License Suspension, or Scheduled Time Payments?

For information regarding Expungement of Arrest Record(s), Driver License Suspension, or Scheduled Time Payments go to the court page on the city website at northcharleston.org

Why was my credit card payment declined?

Credit card payments generally get declined for a number of reasons including insufficient funds, frozen account status, invalid credit card number or expiration date, invalid CVV number, etc. Unfortunately the card issuing bank often does not provide us additional details regarding the reason for the decline -- that's why the error you see simply states "transaction declined".

Is there a fee associated with making an online payment?

Yes. A 2.75% credit card fee and a $5.95 convenience fee is added to all payments. If you're making a monthly installment payment, the convenience fee drops to $2.95.

What is the credit card refund policy?

What is the credit card refund policy? Please contact the Court if you believe a refund is necessary. Be prepared to provide information about your transaction such as your name, case/citation number, date of transaction, transaction amount and last four digits of the credit card number.

Once your payment is made, any convenience fees or credit card fees applied to your payment are non-refundable, non-exchangeable and non-transferable.
